Luca Tramontana was born in 1970 in Ispra, Italy. His artistic education starts at the end of the 80’s at La Nuova Academia di Belle Arti in Milan. It continues at the beginning of the 90’s at L’Ecole de la Ville de Bruxelles where he studies photography.

Today, Luca lives and works in Copenhagen, Denmark. He’s involved in several multi disciplinary projects, and has worked with musicians, visual artists, chefs, graphic designers and directors.

Tramontana early works are series of very erotic photographs painted in a very expressive manner. These works have been presented to the public during the exhibition Giovani Artisti Italiani organised in Rome in 1994 in the Palazzo delle Esposizioni.

1998 was a turning point for his practice, starting to explore the use of digital tools to create.

“I build my world and make sure it keeps changing all the time. Why do you do it ? Because I do as I like and I want you to feel how I think and how I see. I would like to make you smile, to sow doubt in your mind, because it makes me feel I am here, getting stronger, forgetting to eat. When did it start ? It is a setup that starts after every wake-up. Where will it end ? I don’t know, now I would like to picture myself a nice beginning. I am looking for a place”.
