'I believe in a simple and active relation to art that should be part of our every day life'.

The artistic work of Jean-Christophe Massinon is both unifier and playful, convivial and constructive. It is strongly oriented towards pleasure of collective creation. His work treats several common places, objects, or situations inspired from every day life. Whether it be the crowd, underwear, landscapes, a rolling pin, a peanut, a motorcycle, politicians, a disco ball or a campfire, the artist invites us to rediscover them.

Massinon paints, draws, creates objects, stickers, sculpts, assembles found objects or undertakes artistic actions. His language is close to the ideogram. He uses bold, solid colors. The pleasure of creating is clearly visible in his paintings, sculptures and installations. No matter how it translates, the artistic language remains the same: simple, direct and universal.

He transforms the spectator as an active participator in the process of creation that becomes part of a collective gesture. The work of the artist has been presented to the public during several exhibitions, for example: Can’t Wait at Mudam (Modern Art Museum in Luxembourg), Le Balto in Berlin, Art Perm in Perm and more recently during the opening of the Centre Pompidou in Metz.
