After graduating in Science, Julien Cuny (1974) joined the Fine Arts Academy in Epinal, France in 1995 where he undertook an in-depth research on 'the line' as a form of expression.
The creation of the artist is primarily focused on painting and drawing until the day light graph appeared as his new field of experimentation.
'I've always felt inspired by Picasso. One day I saw a photograph of Gjon Mili showing Pablo Picasso using the light of a candle to draw lines, movement of light. It all became obvious: photography as medium and light as a brush. "
Light Graph reflects the spontaneity of the line and suggests movement. The act of creation is uninterrupted and limited in time. The artist has less than 30 seconds to complete his work. The line are fluid. Light graph is the jazz of visual arts. Improvisation prevails. Simplicity, rhythm and poetry are the outcome.
